As we alluded to earlier, Polynesia will now rally behind Mara, and the Samoan Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has very recently had a one-on-one with former member of the Bainimarama's military regime, Lieutenant-Colonel Tevita Uluilakeba Mara.
Melanesia however would do well not to read into these developments as an "us vs them".
This is about the Pacific region shutting out an illegal and treasonous monster, standing by their decisions and being well and truly concerned that innocent and unarmed civilians of Fiji continue to be hijacked against their wishes by an illegal and treasonous military regime.

Samoa's Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele says he doesn't believe his meeting with fugitive former army commander Tevita Mara will inflame tensions with Fiji.
But he says Fijian interim prime minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama continues to block attempts by the Pacific Islands Forum to open a dialogue with the regime.
The Samoan Prime Minister met with Colonel Mara on the last day of his state visit to Australia.
He also attended a Parliamentary reception in his honour, where Australia's Prime Minister Julia Gillard paid tribute to Samoa as a model of stability, freedom and democracy
